Hey folks,
You may have noticed me sending this newsletter every week for the past few months.
I’m going to change things up a bit:
Pace: My newsletter focus will be to create ~ (1) written piece and (1) podcast each month. This will allow me some breathing room and time to:
be a guest on some podcasts, like the Mankind Project’s—I am recording with them in late-March (note: they are the largest non-profit in the world focused on men’s work);
set up some backend awareness-generating and other systems to care for fathers looking for support;
repackage and reprint my first book about my inner journey from boyhood to manhood;
and complete the illustrations for my upcoming book for mindful fathers raising spirited daughters.
Contributions: Free subscribers will see consistent invitations to contribute financially to Fatherhood Dojo going forward along with each written piece or podcast when it gets published. Rather than hiding my content behind a paywall, I am engaging in a transparent gift economy model so anyone (regardless of financial status) can benefit from this work—value is given freely and each person chooses if and how to reciprocate. I trust you to choose what feels possible and in alignment for you.
Fatherhood Dojo is a place for radical candor and compassion. From that place, we can grow.
Here’s my vision: As fathers develop more self-awareness and emotional resilience, they develop more peaceful approaches to conflict and create life-affirming beauty around them, beginning in their homes ✨
Outcomes for Engaged Subscribers
It’s my intention that as you engage with the writing and conversations shared in this newsletter, you feel supported in your journey towards:
More embodied clarity.
More compassion for self and others.
Better quality of relationships.
Better life balance.

What readers are saying so far:
“Matthew's writing is about reconciling who we are on the inside with the way we present ourselves to the world. It isn't just about parenthood—it's about self-hood.” — Will
“Even as a father of older children, I resonate deeply with Matthew’s shared experiences as a young dad. Through his leading by example, first-person daddy experiences, Matthew deftly provides new dads, old dads, (and even dads-to-be) a space to share, to be seen.” — Jeff
“These are relatable stories that help further ways of being and awareness.” — Mike
“What keeps me returning, is Matthew's willingness to candidly share both his struggles and victories in real time, illustrating his growth as a father. In a landscape where parental advice often feels disconnected, rooted in distant experiences, Matt offers an immediate and relatable understanding of the challenges of fatherhood. His reflections are consistently forward-looking, focused on continuous improvement.” — Scott
